Cheap shots

honesty-box-2The mrbojumbles team are on a mission dissolve the misconception that golf is for only the elite and financially secure.

Brief:

Armed with a budget of only 50 (Kiwi) smackers and naked as the day we were born, 5 of us endeavor to make a tee time on (date TBA) paying for clubs, bag, attire, green fees and lunch all with our limited funds.

It’s every man for himself between now and then, basically any approach is acceptable.

  • Delivery costs will not count towards the final budget for any equipment brought on Trademe/Ebay.
  • Receipts must be supplied for all purchases.
  • No naked golf in an attempt for acquiring better equipment.
  • Everything used on the day must be acquired between now and the tee time.
  • No sharing equipment.
  • No stealing.

After this email was sent around the team… the following are the revised ground rules.

  • All equipment (clubs, bag, balls) and at least one item of clothing must be purchased (no renting or borrowing) under conditions we could reasonably expect any Joe Sixpack to replicate (i.e. no use of contacts/mates rates/excessive charm).
  • Aim to spend $30 each on the above (excluding shipping costs), leaving the remainder for green fees.
  • All purchases must be made within one month of tee off (TBA) – I think we need to exhibit some sort of economy of time as well as money.
  • Receipts or proof of purchase must be able to be produced on demand.

Good to see the rules have been finalised and hereby set in stone. I have a second hand shop on Manukau Road that is full of cheap, well loved irons with wooden shafts. Swing easy.

Yes indeed, its going to be spectacular.
May the most frugal man win!
