Long Answer:

Forever a Weet-Bix kid at heart, my barefoot childhood in God’s Own, Aotearoa, New Zealand, shaped my personality into a lover of all things Kiwi with a keen appetite for the game of golf.
A direct product of the Tiger Woods phenomenon, following his emphatic victory in ’97 Masters, the catalyst for many in awe to take up the game – including myself. The golfing seed had been sewn, and was well nurtured from third form onwards truanting off assemblies or mathematics to sneak in a cheeky nine.
Entertaining any thought of how to earn a crust beyond school was far from the fairways of Poverty Bay Golf Club. But after taking 43 shots on the 17th hole at a social twilight tourney, I made the decision to never consider golf as a living. As a fanatical observer and student of the game of golf, I quickly developed a love for the media side of things behind the perceived safety of the ropes.
Now as a sports/golf journalist, I’ve been fortunate enough to work at various professional tournaments and rub shoulders with many of my childhood idols. These experiences have cemented my desire to share and pass on my insights, observations and opinions, but above all, to entertain and inform people with things I get my kicks out of. After a particularly strong pot of coffee one morning, I found myself embellishing stories of my weekend’s events around the water cooler. For whatever reason, I decided I wanted a pseudonym or alias to write under when reporting anything golf related. And somewhere among the drivel – mrbojumbles was born.
Today mrbojumbles has evolved into a brand where a collective group of social golfers can vent and share a generous smorgasbord of rants, opinions, observations, experiences, findings, obsessions, reviews, banter, commentaries, audio, videos and various other time wasting material to satisfy one’s golfing hunger pangs. Talking a far sharper game than we play, and with a constant itch to get what ever it is off our chest, we’ll be following the world golf scene whilst keeping one eye on the progress of the kiwi players and the developments of the game at home.
Disguised as a blog, mrbojumbles is like a pick ‘n’ mix bag of sweets from the supermarket snuck into your local movie theater – all your favorite candy while you just sit back and soak up the entertainment. And better yet, once you think the paper bag is empty, out of nowhere a mystery crease appears in the bottom corner playing host to a couple of hidden gems.
Mrbojumbles is driving the band wagon from Magnolia Lane through Controversy Village en route to Ridiculous City, leading the new breed of boisterous patrons behind the ropes giving golf a right ol’ kick in the pants and exercising our right to go bananas! Tongue often firmly embedded in cheek, dont be misled, mrbojumbles still delivers enough substance for the golf tragics to chew on.
