The big frame of John Daly has trimmed down somewhat lately, this combined with an generous injection of colour into his strides and being banned from the PGA Tour has equated in some promising recent form on the European Tour.

Daly said over the Christmas holidays that he had been suspended from the PGA Tour for the second time in his career, but news from the Daly camp is that he found out two weeks ago that he had been reinstated. PGA Tour spokesman Ty Votaw said ‘the tour does not comment on player discipline; it never confirmed that Daly was suspended, and now cannot confirm that a suspension has been lifted’, whatever that means.  But for long John the 6 month suspension is now over and he can get back to doing what he does best… looking for a new sponsors invites for tourneys to play.

His new clothing deal with Loudmouth Golf  could be his ticket for gaining invites to a few extra events. His pants (some suspiciously looking like Flight of the Conchords winter jim-jams) are things of beauty, extremely loud and hideously proud.

I think the golfing world needs more John Dalys. Hey, not everyone can be a role model… but these pants sure are something to aspire to.
